Area Public Transit

AC Transit

AC Transit runs bus services throughout the East Bay, and express buses to San Francisco. AC Transit local rides are free of charge with your Class Pass sticker. For transit throughout the Bay Area, including bus, BART, Muni, ferries, light rail, and traffic information, call 511 or check 511.org.

East Bay Paratransit

East Bay Paratransit is a public transit service for people who are unable to use regular buses or trains, like those operated by AC Transit and BART, because of a disability.

Campus Access Guide

The Campus Access Guide provides comprehensive information about physical access to the campus and policies and procedures related to full participation in campus activities. Maps include accessible building entrances, campus routes, and pathway slopes. The Guide also covers transportation and parking, academic and non-academic accommodations, dispute resolution procedures, technology access, and other topics.

Parking

For detailed information, consult the Parking section of the Campus Access Guide.

Parking and Transportation Services is located at 2150 Kittredge Street, First Floor; 510-643-7701; prktrans@berkeley.edu.

Local/Regional Travel

While DSP usually funds accessible transportation when needed to enable a student to participate in a course-related activity, when a sponsoring host is providing transportation for non-disabled students to attend a University-related event, the cost of a non-academic University off-site activity (including accessible transportation) is the responsibility of the event sponsor.

There are several Bay area private accessible transportation vendors who provide transportation (with or without an accompanying driver) for a fee.
