Dear DSP Students,

Exciting things are happening at DSP! Today I want to share one important change that will impact the way you connect with our office.

In response to student concerns about difficulties in connecting with our office, we are putting in place a new appointment system for DSP students to meet with disability specialists.
We will no longer have general drop in hours every day from 11:00 am-3:00 pm. Students will always meet with their assigned DSP specialist, except in extraordinary circumstances (for example, a deadline that day).  Each specialist will have some limited drop in hours, but in most cases students will need to make an appointment in order to see their specialist.  Students can make appointments at the front desk or by contacting their assigned specialist directly by phone or email.

We will no longer have general drop in hours.  We will have have one specialist available each day from 9:00 am-4:00 pm to assist with crisis situations only.

If you would like to change the specialist you are assigned to and be assigned to a specialist you have built a relationship with, please contact me directly and I can make that change for you.  The goal of this change in appointment processes is to help students to build a positive working relationship with one specialist who knows your needs well.

Please feel free to contact me with questions or concerns.  The new appointment process will begin on June 26 I will send out more information and reminders and we will also post this information on our website.

DSP is gearing up for a great new school year.  I will be hosting some "meet with the director" events in the fall semester to get your feedback and ideas about how we can make DSP work better for you.  Stay tuned!

Have a great summer,
