Bio/CV: 

Sonia joined UC Berkeley’s DSP team in September 2025. She brings over 20 years of experience in postsecondary education across the U.S and Canada, with a deep rooted commitment and focus on accessibility, inclusive service delivery, academic success and student wellness. 

Sonia holds a Licenciada in Psychology from  the Universidad de Buenos Aires (Argentina), a Master’s in Communication and Multimedia from Saginaw Valley State, and holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Adler University. She is multilingual - fluent in English/Spanish/Hindi - and has served in faculty and leadership roles across student services, accessibility and academic development. 

Throughout her career, Sonia has led transformative initiatives focused on inclusive service delivery models, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and equity-focused training. She is a strategic leader and systems thinker with extensive experience advocating for students with disabilities, consulting with faculty, and mentoring professional teams. Whether working one on one with students or developing campus wide frameworks, Sonia is passionate about co-creating learning environments that are accessible, reduce barriers and center student voice and success.

Outside of work, Sonia loves travelling, connecting with people from all walks of life, and spending time in nature. She is a lifelong learner who finds joy in discovering new perspectives, places and ideas.
