If you have a significant concern about the well-being of any student in your class, please file a Care Report with the campus’s Center for Support and Intervention (CSI). Filing a Care Report allows a CSI Case Manager to evaluate the concern and to offer appropriate support to the student.
If you have an immediate concern about any student’s personal safety, you may contact Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) or the University of California Police Department (UCPD) for guidance, as appropriate.
The campus Gold Folder provides information to help you decide the most appropriate response to the concern you are experiencing about a student and shares resources for supporting students who are in distress or whose well-being is of concern to you.
Contacting the student’s assigned Disability Specialist is also appropriate, and DSP can reach out to the student to check in and offer support. However, DSP should not be your sole point of contact when you have an immediate and significant concern about a student’s well-being.
