Welcome to my DSP page! I joined the Berkeley community in January 2018 and bring with me over six years experience working with students with varying disabilities, with over four of those years in higher education. In working with college students, I have adopted a person-centered approach and emphasize the importance of a student’s narrative and the understanding of one’s self and needs.
I graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. After some time spent traveling and teaching English, I completed my Master of Arts degree in Counseling with an emphasis in College Student Services from Saint Mary’s College of California.
In my work with students, I always encourage them to ask questions. When in doubt, ask someone. This is crucial in becoming your best self-advocate. On a large campus like Berkeley, don’t hesitate to reach out and introduce yourself and ask what support/resources you might be able to receive. Make as many connections as you can with your time on campus.
As a Bay Area native, I love spending my evenings/weekends exploring different restaurants and enjoying the views/hiking that the bay has to offer. I also enjoy fun DIY projects.
I look forward to working with each of you!
