Job title:
Disability Specialist - Autism
Bio/CV:

Welcome to DSP! Compassion, integrity, and community are a few of my highest values.

Both inside and outside of my role as a Disability Specialist, I thrive in purposefully envisioning the future, and emboldening others in reaching their educational and personal aspirations. As a person with multiple disabilities, I was a first-generation college student grappling with the social and attitudinal barriers that can exist in the pursuit of a word-class degree at a competitive university. I bring these experiences to my role as a specialist.

I received my MA in Sociology from Columbia University and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Mills College with a BA in Sociology and a minor in Urban Education. Some of my past research topics include: examining educational institutions, social inequality, invisible disabilities, and the act of disability disclosure. I enjoy creating and implementing programming that is identity affirming, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. Bringing over ten years of experience working with students with disabilities, I have a particular affinity and expertise in supporting, mentoring, and collaborating with students who identify as Autistic.

I have also organized national music tours, booked talent, and fundraised for large events in the world of the arts. In my free time, I love attending art exhibitions, listening to music, exploring nature, and spending time with my family, partner, and French bulldog, Harry.
