Assistant Disability Specialist
Bio/CV:

Jessica Mangaccat started as a disability specialist with DSP in 2023. Jessica is a first generation college student and a daughter of immigrants. She has an undergraduate degree in Legal Studies and previously worked in the legal field for 10 years as a paralegal before switching careers and getting her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Jessica was inspired to work with people with disabilities after her father developed a spinal cord injury. Jessica has experience working with people with disabilities across the lifespan, from children with physical, neurological, and sensory integrative delays to frail, older adults from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Jessica also has experience with animal assisted therapy and volunteered with her certified therapy dog, Woody, visiting hospice patients for Vitas Healthcare. She currently volunteers with Canine Companions for Independence. Jessica is excited to work with college students helping them become successful in their occupations as students and hopes to apply her extensive experience and knowledge in this new role.

Jessica is an avid runner and enjoys spending time with her partner and dog, watching movies, trying out new restaurants, reading, traveling and all things dog related.
