I’ve spent my career in education, first as a high school English teacher, then as a Learning Specialist for high school and middle school students. I loved the experience of working with individual students: fostering their metacognition, coaching them in self-advocacy, and helping them navigate the challenges of their classrooms and learning environments.
When I began working as a Disability Specialist in higher education in 2016, however, I discovered that this area allowed me to use my expertise towards social justice goals of educational equity and access. I joined Berkeley’s Disabled Students’ Program in 2023 and primarily support graduate students.
I hold a BA in English from Yale University and an MA in English from Middlebury College (Bread Loaf School of English), and I have a Certificate in Educational Therapy from Holy Names University.
When not at work, I can be found reading, cooking, hiking, swimming, or knitting. I love to travel, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have lived abroad in Mexico and Spain on family sabbaticals.
