Requesting ASL Interpreting Services for Enrolled Courses (Each Semester)
-
Each semester you must submit your ASL Interpreting requests in the DSP Portal (AIM). It is advised to request services as soon as you are registered so that you don’t experience a delay in receiving services. Please note that it may take up to two weeks to receive ASL Interpreting services once your request is submitted.
-
Instructions for requesting ASL services are also available in DOCX and PDF formats.
Scheduling Logistics
- Adding and Dropping Classes: Use the DSP portal (AIM) to request ASL Interpreting for class changes or additions. Notify the Communication Services Supervisor after making AIM updates. Please allow up to two weeks for ASL Interpreting services after submitting your request.
- Lateness or Absence: Please inform the Communication Services Supervisor promptly if you're late or unable to attend class. If no advance notice is given, ASL Interpreters will wait 15 minutes for one-hour classes, 20 minutes for two-hour classes, and 30 minutes for classes lasting three hours or more.
- Class Cancellation: In the event that a class is cancelled, please notify the Communication Services Supervisor as soon as possible.
Requesting ASL Interpreting Services for Course-Required Activities Outside Class Time
If you require ASL Interpreting for class-required activities held outside of the scheduled class time (i.e. field trips, office hours, group meetings), please submit a custom request in AIM. Whenever possible, please provide advance notice of such meetings or requirements.
Requesting ASL Interpreting Services for Non-Course Required Activities
If you would like to request ASL Interpreting services for an event outside of your enrolled courses, please visit Disability Access and Compliance to submit your request.
